zoleta champs

How many of the country’s 16-year-old girl tennis players can claim that they’re an endorser of a popular sports apparel? Bien Zoleta can.

Noelle Conchita Corazon ‘Bien’ Zoleta has been basking in the national and international tennis limelight sporting Accel sports wear for four years now. Not only that. For quite some time, this graduating senior high school student of Maryhill College in Lucena City has been swinging her arms in the tennis court using a Head tennis racket today. As a product endorser of Head, Bien gets to tour certain venues around the country where Head-sponsored tennis competitions are held. She was at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center in Manila last May to grace the 9th leg of the Head-Penn Tournament.

This young belle of the tennis court hopes to be a professional model someday endorsing other major tennis apparels and sports equipment, but not forgetting about her passion for tennis at the same time. She caught the tennis fever when she was six or seven years old seeing her older brothers Karl and Borgy playing tennis in the age group and eventually winning trophies. “I told myself: Someday I can get more trophies than my brothers,” she said.

The third among four siblings, Bien would like to take up Mass Communication at the De La Salle University (DLSU) next school year. She dreams of developing further her natural charm in order to gain respect of other notable names in tennis.

If charm and a nice smile are not enough aces to make her win the admiration of the makers of tennis gears, perhaps her 206 trophies and 30 medals lying around her home in Lucena City can speak for her highly proficient skill in tennis. A baseliner-power player, Bien has brought pride for the Philippines in several tennis competitions held abroad.

Bien went to Malaysia thrice in order to compete in the 10-under (1999), 14-under (2001), and 16-under (2003) reigning supreme in all divisions.

She had set foot in Indonesia where she joined in the 2002 and 2004 Junior Federation Cup (16-under), and in the 2001 East Asia Cup, and 2002 World Junior Cup (14-under). Bien also used to be a regular participant of the Milo Junior Tennis Cup, Adidas Tennis Challenge, Philta Age Group Tennis Championships, and Copa De Manila Age Group Tennis Championships, among many other tournaments where she had share her victories under different divisions.

For Bien, playing tennis isn’t just about competition, it’s also about meeting ordinary and famous people, and being able to travel to places that she has never had visited before. When she’s not in the tennis court playing, Bien is spending her time hiking.
